Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival
If the children walk or are transported to school by their parents, they should not arrive before 8:40 AM. The school will open at 8:40 A.M. All children who arrive between 8:40 and 8:50 may go directly to their classrooms. Any child arriving after 8:50 is tardy and must be brought to the school office by his/her parent to be signed in. Please park your car in a designated spot, and walk your child to the office to sign him/her in. After signing your child in, the student will be given a tardy pass to take to their classroom. Parents are not to walk their child to their classroom. Upon request a member of the office staff will accompany a younger student to their classroom.
Dismissal
The students are dismissed at 3:15 PM. Students will be directed to the appropriate exits depending on whether they are walkers, car riders or bus riders.
All car riders will be directed to the exit to the rear parking lot to await pickup. Staff members on duty will assist students with a safe exit from school to their designated vehicles.
All walkers will be directed to exit from the far end of the A-Hall. Walkers will not be permitted to exit from any other location. This constitutes a change from past practice. This change will provide a safe departure for our walkers. There is a Crossing Guard presence for the students at this exit.
It is extremely important that all students cross at designated crosswalks and observe/follow the directions and signals of all Crossing Guards.
All bus riders will depart to their specific buses as directed upon the arrival of their specific buses. The will be directed to their buses and exit to the bus ramp by the flag pole. Staff will be assisting with this process.
Parking
If you are required to visit the school office, please use a designated parking slot. For your safety and the safety of all children, please do not park in a driveway or in the bus port circle.
I am confident that these "safe school" initiatives are very much consistent with your beliefs and that the safety and well being of our children cannot be compromised.
Children learn by example.
Let each of us do our best to set a good one.
If you have any questions or concerns in these regards, please contact Mr. Modica at (215) 809-6320. Thank you for what I anticipate will be your fullest support and cooperation.
