Mr. Jeffery S . Schnitzer

Subject/Grade: Instrumental Music 3-5

Mr. Schnitzer grew up in Levittown and graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1973. He graduated from Temple University with a Bachelors of Musical Arts and later returned to earn his teaching certificate and Masters of Music Education. After a career as a full-time performing musician, he decided to communicate his love for music and children by pursuing a career teaching music. In 1985 he began as a long term substitute at Albert Schweitzer Elementary school, eventually coming to Samuel Everitt as a classroom music teacher in 1992. When the opportunity to teach instrumental music became available in 1998, Mr. Schnitzer took that position, returning to Everitt as an instrumental music teacher in 2001.

In 2001, Mr. Schnitzer received his Rabbinic ordination from the Rabbinical Seminary International in New York City. He is currently in the process of completing his Masters of Psychology in Marriage and Family Counseling and resides in the Neshaminy School District with his wife and two children.

Aside from teaching the concepts and discipline of music, Mr. Schnitzer attempts to teach the principles of self-reliance, problem solving, and leadership through the medium of instrumental music.
