5th Grade Classroom Supplies

Dear Parents/Guardians:

 

          We are looking forward to the start of a new year and look forward to meeting all the fifth graders!!   We have lots of great things planned for your child and are excited to work together as a team to give your child the best educational experience ever!!

 

          To get the year off to a great start, each child will need the following basic supplies:

 

*Calculator (We will be purchasing these in bulk when school begins.  Approximate cost:  $15.00.  More information will be provided.

*12 SHARPENED #2 pencils

*1 eraser

*2 Black Sharpie Markers (one fine point and one broad point)

*1 Decorative pocket folder labeled:  TAKE HOME/Homework

*2 LARGE Book covers/Book socks

*2 Glue Sticks

*2 Post-it notes (1 -1/2 “ x 2”)

*2 Post-it notes (1” x “1)

*2 Highlighters

*Crayons and colored pencils

*Art Smock with Child’s name printed on it

*2 Erasable black or blue pens and 1 red pen

*1 zippered pencil case or pencil box that will easily fit in student’s desk

*1 YELLOW single subject spiral notebook labeled:  MATH

*1 YELLOW pocket folder labeled: MATH

*Tissues (one large box)

*1 roll paper towels, 1 container of disinfectant wipes

* 1 Letter-size poly envelope with a side opening (string/button closure) to use for “Bag of Books”

 

The following items are specific to each teacher:

 

Mrs. Beck and Miss Allbrook ~ 
         Three 1 inch binders and one pocket folder with holes for EACH binder.  
                  Binders are for Science, Social Studies and Reading.  Please label each binder and folder.

              *Please do not buy ONE huge binder.  They don’t fit in student desks and are too bulky and 
                     confusing for the children to use when switching from one subject to the next. Thank you!

       5 Dividers

       The current book your child is reading at home for pleasure!

       5 quart size Ziplock baggies
       4 dry-erase markers (medium tip)

 

 Mrs. Mason ~

         One 5-subject spiral notebook
         
One 3-subject spiral notebook for Social Studies
         
8 notebook dividers

         One set of Dry Erase Markers

         One of each: red, green, and blue subject folder, with pockets.

 
Mrs. Hontz ~
